Aunjanue E. Taylor Aunjanue E. Taylor, an American actor-producer and stage actress has been known for her roles in the film Ray Undercover Brother as well as on The Mentalist. She received the B.A. from African-American Studies, from Brown University. Her MFA is in acting at Tisch School of Acting at New York University. Aunjanue Lisa Ellis is an actor, producer as well as an American actor active in the theatre, television and film. She started her career acting in the theatre and then went on to make appearances in numerous TV shows, both mainstream and independent films. She rose to fame as Miranda Shaw in ABC's Quantico in addition to appearing on BET's epic series The Book of Negroes. In both roles, she was praised by critics and received numerous nominations and awards, including the Television Critics Choice Award for the Best Actress. Her professional acting debut with the character Ariel in The Tempest in 1995. On Broadway, she has appeared as a character in Come and Gone A Winter's Tale Seeking the Genesis and Joe Turner's Come and Gone. In the film industry, she's best known for performances such as Men of Honor The Caveman's Valentine The Express or The Help. Her work in television she's been recognized for her performance as a regular character on ABC's drama about cops High Incident.
