
Madhuri Dixit is a well-known Indian actress known for her roles in the films 'Beta'' 'Saajan,' and 'Hum Aapke Hain Koun ..!' She began her career in the 1980s , and was a hit with her role in the movie 'Tezaab' where she played alongside veteran actor Anil Kapoor. In the following film, she starred in the movie "Dil" where she shared screen space alongside Aamir Khan. She was born to a Mumbai middle-class family, and started dancing from a young age. She tried her hand at acting when she was young however, it wasn't an easy task. Most of her first film projects failed. Her career eventually took off and she became one of the top actors in Indian cinema. She stopped her career following her marriage prior to returning to the entertainment business. She was also a key role in the movie "Gulaab Gang," that focused on the struggle of women in India. Dixit was nominated for 15 Filmfare Awards. She won eight. In addition, she was awarded the Padma Shri (the fourth highest civilian award in India). Her work in the field of social service is another one of the highlights.
