Lars Mikkelsen

Lars MikkelsenAt the age of 27, he was enrolled in the National Theatre School of Denmark and graduated in 1995. He was also featured in The Killing, a drama series that was aired across the globe. Then, he appeared in Those Who Kill II and Borgen III, two other well-known Danish drama series. He also had an important role in Sherlock which is the BBC drama in which his character was Charles Augustus Magnussen, whose blackmailer. He played Russia's president on the American television show House of Cards. In 2018, he was awarded an International Emmy Award for his role as Russian president in the Danish television drama Herrens Veje. This was broadcast in the UK as Ride Upon the Storm in 2019. Mikkelsen is fluent in English, Swedish and German. He also has various accents. Mikkelsen has said that the two brothers first learned English through listening to Monty Python records and learning the comedy sketches
